Agriculture Ministry Audit Committee Named Jamaica’s Top Performer for 2024-2025

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining’s Internal Audit Committee has been designated the top performer for the 2024-2025 financial year by the Government of Jamaica’s Internal Audit Directorate, after ranking first among 30 such committees.

This milestone reflects the Ministry’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and adherence to established protocols and guidelines. The Government of Jamaica’s Internal Audit Directorate assessed the Ministry’s Audit Committee using the Audit Committee Performance Evaluation (ACPE) tool, through which the Committee achieved an excellent performance score of 98%.

The Committee attained 100% scores in areas such as Evaluation of and Communication with Internal Audit, Oversight of Financial Reporting and related matters, and Oversight of External Audit Issues.

The Ministry takes this opportunity to express gratitude to senior management, the Ministry’s highly diligent Internal Audit Committee, which continues to hold the Ministry to high standards, and all other key stakeholders for working together to achieve this landmark accomplishment. It also calls upon the Committee and senior management to continue playing their respective roles in contributing to nation‑building.
