PQPI
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining is pleased to announce that our Plant Quarantine/Produce Inspection Branch Montego Bay Export Facility is now fully operational and ready to facilitate export activities.
Exporters are advised to proceed with their shipments, ensuring that arrangements are made with their ground handlers or the respective airlines to secure the necessary bookings. In addition, exporters are reminded to schedule appointments with the PQPI’s Export Complex in Montego Bay to guarantee appropriate staff allocation and smooth processing.
The Montego Bay Export Complex’s administrative office and warehouse had sustained significant damage during Hurricane Melissa, which temporarily rendered operations non-functional. The reopening of the facility marks a significant step in restoring export services and supporting Jamaica’s agricultural sector.
