Problems Addressed:	The “Fisheries Component” of the IJAPP Project seeks to improve the operational and environmental management practices of fisherfolk in six selected regions, as well as those of other fisheries organizations and cooperatives members linked to the project.
Project Objectives:	Improve productivity of Jamaican fisherfolk through sound environmental management practices in small-scale fisheries.
Main Activities:	Artificial reef construction (1,500 units inclusive of condominiums) including installation. Rehabilitation of beach structures on six (6) selected beaches, namely: Old Harbour Bay (St Catherine) Rocky Point (Clarendon) Black River (St Elizabeth) Savanna-la-Mar (Westmoreland) Negril (Westmoreland) Calabash Bay (Westmoreland) Training of at least 240 fishers and 20 fisheries personnel in the management of sustainable fishing operations and organizational strengthening.
