Jamaica passed the Access to Information Act (ATI) legislation in 2002.
The Act was implemented on a phased basis. The Ministry of Agriculture implemented this Act in May 2004 in the second phase. The Documentation, Information & Access Services Unit manages the administration of the Act within the Ministry of Agriculture.
