Wednesday, November 8, 2006 was, therefore, a milestone in the lives of the first 150 proud St. Catherine recipients under the LAMP Programme, who received their Certificates of Title from the Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller.

 


Funded by the Government of Jamaica and the Inter–American Development Bank, the Programme was implemented to simplify and reduce the cost of the land titling process to the ordinary Jamaican.

Partnership with Jamaica National Building Society
To this end, Jamaica National Building Society, through its subsidiary, JN Small Business Loans Ltd has partnered with the Ministry of Agriculture, in order to provide affordable financing to beneficiaries under LAMP.

Based on the overwhelming success of the pilot phase of the Programme, Cabinet has taken the decision to extend it throughout the island.
