Mission Statement
To activate, stimulate, facilitate and undertake agricultural development for enhancement of the economic well being of the Jamaican people.
Strategic Objectives
- Ensuring there is an organizational structure to adequately implement commercialization of agriculture.
Key Outputs
- Enhance improvement in the quality of livestock in the cattle industry as a whole.
- To preserve; consolidate and expand the National Beef Cattle gene pool of the three (3) Jamaican Beef Cattle Breeds as well as to maintain purity of germplasm.
- Provide facilities and undertake Performance Test of young bulls.
- Utilization of local ingredients for the production of supplemental livestock feed systems.
- Incorporation of a dairy unit at Minard.
- Establishment of cane for seed
- Establish Tree Crop e.g. Ackee
