Veterinary Services Diagonostic Laboratory

Residue Biochemical Testing Capability

The Residue Biochemical Unit, within the Veterinary Services Diagnostic Laboratory (VSDL), offers an array of comprehensive tests that are required for the safe consumption of meat and seafood products. These quantitative analyses seek to identify food producing animals and meat products that surpass the maximum drug residue limits. The presence of prohibited substances, veterinary drugs, feed additives, pesticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins and other contaminants has the potential of restricting entry of meat products into local and international food markets.

The tests done at the VSDL and the cost per sample are listed below. Please note that the costs are reviewed regularly and may change without prior notice.
