Donovan Stanberry


Mr. Donovan Stanberry was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture in March 2006, prior to which he served in various senior positions in the Government Service, notably: Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Land and Environment; Chief Technical Director in the Ministry of Water and Housing; Senior Director in the Ministry of Public Utilities and Transport; and Senior Economist at the Planning Institute of Jamaica.

Before joining the Government Service, Mr. Stanberry lectured at the University of Technology, Jamaica and at the former Institute of Management Production.

He has a M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the Moscow Agricultural Academy, and an MBA in Finance from the University of the West Indies, Mona.

Mr. Stanberry currently serves on the Boards of the Water Resources Authority; the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA); EX-IM Bank; the Urban Development Corporation; the Sugar Industry Authority; the Sugar Company of Jamaica; and the Banana Export Company.
